In the church
calendar, Lent is a season for "spiritual house cleaning,” study and
reflection. This season begins on Ash Wednesday and culminates in Holy
Week and the celebration of resurrection and renewal on Easter Sunday.
In many Christian traditions, it is a practice to give something up for
Lent, remembering Jesus’ sacrifice. You may choose to do that, but we
hope that you will also add something to your life: reflection on the
ways in which the ancient wisdom of the Bible speaks to our lives today.
This
year, we will be exploring the life and mission of the church: "Being
the Church” on Sunday mornings in worship, and "We Are the Church
Together” on Wednesday evenings in study. The topics and Bible readings
are provided in this brochure so that you may read them and come ready
to share your questions and ideas.
As we explore what it is to be
a church, this is a good time to invite a friend or neighbor to
experience North Church. Wednesday night sessions are interactive and
appropriate care will be provided for younger children. We hope to see
you Sundays and Wednesday nights!

On
Wednesday, February 22, we will gather for supper in Fellowship Hall at
6:30 p.m. (prepared and served by the Trustees), followed by Worship at 7:15
