"We always have the most fun,” commented one former member of the Board of Christian Fellowship. She went on to tell about one particularly rowdy meeting, when the laughter wafted down the halls and interrupted the more serious board meetings going on.
Officially, the board works with the ministerial staff developing and implementing programs for members of all ages – from the nursery, to Sunday School, to adult Bible study. This creative group plans Rally Day (that exciting Sunday afternoon that kicks off the new school year), reviews curricula to be used in the Sunday School, comes up with activities for teens that won’t elicit moans of anticipated boredom, and responds to the interests of adults with study opportunities.
They plan the Christmas Craft Workshop at the beginning of the Advent season. This event features craft making opportunities for children and adults, and a visit from Santa Claus. There’s the Strawberry Social in June that marks the end of the year’s successful Sunday School, recognition of teachers, and an often-needed summer rest for these people. It’s no wonder the Board of Christian Fellowship and Education has such a good time!
